Faleatua Areta lived a grateful life. His gratitude was limitless. He navigated his life around his blessings, not the dire circumstances that often befell him in the latter years of his life. He lived passionately for the things that mattered most; love of God, Family, People, and Culture. At the peak of his career as an educator in American Samoa, he had to make the hard decision to retire due to medical concerns, but he continued to pray for the success of young Samoan students. Therefore, to continue this hope, in his honor, we offer two scholarships of $1,000 each in his name. It is our hope that this award will help give young people a jump start in their future endeavors.
